Nike eyewear is part of a prominent brand which is recognized worldwide and is present in many countries. Little may be known of this company which started with a humble beginning through the idea of Phil Knight, who wrote an MBA paper on how quality performance shoes manufactured in Japan could be sold at a lower price in the U.S. He then visited Japan’s Onitsuka Tiger, a shoe manufacturer and arranged for 200 shoes to be shipped to the U.S. in 1963. The next year, he teamed up with his friend from University of Oregon, Bill Bowerman, one of U.S.’s top track coaches, to form a new enterprise. The company they owned was known as Blue Ribbon Sports. Later on, the “Swoosh” design was created by a graphics design student, Carolyn Davidson. In the same year, Jeff Johnson, BRS’s first employee, had a dream about Nike, the goddess of victory and thus the new brand name Nike was launched at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene.

Nike eyewear is licensed to be produced by Marchon Eyewear, a company which focuses on production and distribution of eyewear with brand names like Calvin Klein, DKNY, FENDI as well as Nike. Marchon Eyewear has their headquarters in the U.S. with manufacturing facilities in Italy, China and Japan, as well as regional headquarters located in Amsterdam and Tokyo. Designing is carried out at Marchon’s design lab in Italy with links to other design branches in U.S., Japan and China.

This model is designed with a silver frame that gives the impression of a unique futuristic look.
