Expressive Oliver Peoples Eyewear

The designers and producers at Oliver Peoples eyewear have a mission: Commitment to design-stimulating eyewear for expressive individuals. These were probably what the founders of Oliver Peoples eye wear, Larry Leight, Kenneth Schwartz and Dennis Leight had in mind when they opened their first Oliver Peoples boutique in Sunset Plaza in Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles in 1986. In the beginning, this boutique marketed vintage eyewear collections of the 1920s optician Oliver Peoples Esquire. In the following year, they decided to create their own original eyewear designs to be sold and distributed to optical shops, specialty boutiques as well as department stores. The next decade saw the expansion of their business as new Oliver Peoples eyeglass boutiques were opened internationally as well as across the USA. This innovative eyewear company also adopts outstanding strategies to increase product value by collaborating with UK fashion designer Paul Smith to produce the Paul Smith eyewear collections. Additionally, Oliver Peoples’ designer Larry Leight was also the consultant for Prada and Vera Wang when these international designers launched their eyewear range.

Oliver Peoples eyewear consists of two major ranges, the Sunglasses collection and the Optical Collection. The Oliver Peoples sunglasses range of eyewear is available in a variety of shapes, designs, color and material. Designs with plastic frames are mostly handcrafted with varying shades of tinted lenses with UV protection. On the other hand, metal framed eyeglasses are made of high-quality metal coupled with silicone nose pads and fitted with advanced OXP lenses also with UV protection.

The Optical collection consists of designs that are inspired by vintage eyewear which were the first eyewear products that were marketed by Oliver Peoples. With this, Oliver Peoples Prescriptive eyeglasses project a simple yet stylish image, at the same time reflecting intelligence and character. This collection offers a mix of metal and plastic frames, with plastic frames mostly handcrafted while metal frames are produced using high-quality metal with silicone nose pads for extra comfort. Finally, a metal plaque with the Oliver Peoples logo is laminated at the ends of the temples to reflect the Oliver Peoples eyeglasses brand.
